When I think back to the start, I was obsessed on WhatsApp. It was the most famous platform at the time, and everyone my social circle was on it. However, over time I began to realize a few issues that made me start to question my commitment to the app.

Once you join the app, you're essentially giving up total control over your messaging history. If the company decides to sell your data to another firm or reluctantly shares it with the government, you're left with no choice but to trust their promises for it. On the other hand, Telegram offers the highest level of security, ensuring that my conversations remain safe and secure.

Another reason I made the change to Telegram was the cluttered and unorganized design of WhatsApp. The app has looked pretty much the same over the years, which led to a messy design and too many unnecessary functions. On the other hand, Telegram's clean design makes it easy to find my way around and use. They also offer a wide range of features, from file sharing to making video calls, that make it a better platform.

I'm also pleased with Telegram's strong focus on community-building. With Telegram, I can join groups of up to 200,000 users and participate in discussions who share my hobbies. This is something that's not easily replicable with WhatsApp, which has a more restrictive approach to group membership.

Another area where Telegram excels is in its approach to file sharing. With Telegram, I can send files of up to 2GB, whereas WhatsApp limits file sharing to just 100MB. This makes it infinitely easier to collaborate with others on projects and large files.

Finally, I want to talk about the way of doing business used by the two apps. WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, which means that I have to accept a whole host of data sharing terms and agreements when I join the app. On the other hand, Telegram operates on its own and doesn't have to answer to any major tech company. This makes it a more stable platform.

Overall, my experience with Telegram has been overwhelmingly positive. I've discovered that it's quicker, safer, and easier to use than WhatsApp. If you're looking for an alternative to WhatsApp, I highly recommend giving Telegram a go. With its many useful features and pledge to keep users safe, it's an app that's definitely a good idea.
